On Sunday, May 14, this year’s Mother’s Day, the Athens Olympic Museum celebrates its second anniversary together with Olympian Denise Dimaki, offering unique activities for the whole family and free admission for all mothers.

This year’s celebrations at the Athens Olympic Museum are dedicated to mothers – the people who pass down life’s values and ideals and give us the strength to keep striving. The museum’s guest of honor will be Olympian, active triathlete, and mother Denise Dimaki.

Denise Dimaki, the first Greek female triathlete to compete in the Olympic Games, will welcome young and old visitors for a role-playing activity. In this interactive experience, the museum’s young guests will become journalists, interviewing the athlete to learn about her sport, her journey, and what it’s like to be both an Olympian and a mother. Children will also take on the role of athletes themselves in fun physical activities and take part in a creative workshop where they’ll draw and craft gifts dedicated to their moms.

At the same time, the Athens Olympic Museum honors all mothers by inviting them to enjoy a special visit to the museum with their children, offering free admission and a 45-minute guided tour of the museum’s permanent exhibition. These guided tours will take place from 14:00 to 18:00 every hour on the hour, in groups of up to 25 people (no reservation required).
