Athens Olympic Museum Celebrates Two Years and Mother’s Day

Celebrates Two Years

On Sunday, May 14th, this year’s Mother’s Day, the Athens Olympic Museum celebrates its second anniversary with special family activities and free admission for all mothers, alongside Olympic champion Deniz Dimaki.

This year’s celebrations are dedicated to mothers—the people who pass on values and life ideals and give us the tools to keep striving for excellence. Deniz Dimaki, Olympic triathlete and mother, will be the Museum’s special guest.

Deniz Dimaki, the first Greek female triathlete to compete in the Olympic Games, will welcome young and adult visitors to an interactive role-playing experience. Children will step into the role of journalists, discovering information about the guest athlete, the sport of triathlon, and what it’s like to be an Olympian mother. They will also have the opportunity to become athletes themselves, participating in physical activities, and take part in an art workshop where they can paint and create crafts dedicated to their mothers.

At the same time, the Museum will honor all mothers by inviting them to a special visit with their children, offering free admission and a 45-minute guided tour of the permanent exhibition. Guided tours will run from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, every hour on the hour, in groups of 25 visitors (no advance booking required).

Mother’s Day Celebration Schedule – Sunday, May 14th

  • 10:00 – 21:00 | Free admission for mothers (last entry: 20:00)
