On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the "ATHENS 2004" Olympic Games and this Olympic year, the Athens Olympic Museum opens its Collection and takes us back to the Opening Ceremony of the 28th Olympiad.

From July 22 to August 4, costumes worn by performers and stage props from the Permanent Collection of the Athens Olympic Museum are presented to the public for the first time in a unique journey reliving the night of the Opening Ceremony of the "ATHENS 2004" Games, on the ground floor of Golden Hall.

The anniversary exhibition consists of 8 stations featuring costume and stage prop compositions from the “Hourglass” segment of the Opening Ceremony. The dreamlike procession, with figures inspired by frescoes, mosaics, sculptures, and Greek painting, created by Artistic Director Dimitris Papaioannou, transports visitors of the shopping center to unforgettable moments of Greek culture. Part of the anniversary exhibition also includes the official medal award uniform from Athens 2004 worn by Voula Kozomboli, Olympic water polo champion, generously loaned by herself.

The journey through time concludes at the Permanent Exhibition of the Athens Olympic Museum, where the "ATHENS 2004" Games hold a special place, and memories are enriched with authentic objects, personal testimonies, narrations by the creators, Greek Olympians, and highlights of the Games.
